Do you have plenty of antlerless permits but are limited on freezer space? How about donating your deer to the needy in DeWitt County?
Harwell's is able to accept DeWitt County deer for distribution to those in need in DeWitt County. As deer are taken to Harwell's and processed, the venison is stored at the Victoria Food Bank until the agencies in DeWitt County are ready to accept the meat on their distribution schedule. The DeWitt County agencies are the Cuero Area Ministries, First Baptist Church of Yoakum, and the Yorktown Assistance Ministries.
Hunter's delivering the deer to Harwell's must notify Harwell's of their intent to donate the animal to the DeWitt County HFTH program. Under contract Harwell's will process the deer at the specified rate of $35. The deer can be processed with funds available in the DeWitt County program. The Memo of Agreement with Harwell's contains the funds necessary to process 95 deer!
Use your all of your antlerless permits, donate your deer to the HFTH!
